In this regard, it is implementing the following strategy and actions:

  • 2023-2025 multi-year accessibility plan of the SNCF Group (Pending publication)
  • 2023 action plan (Pending publication)

This accessibility declaration applies to the Ma Gare application on Android

COMPLIANCE STATUS

The SNCF Ma Gare application on Android does not comply with the reference framework for assessing accessibility of mobile applications (RAAM) due to the non-compliance issues listed below.

TEST RESULTS

The compliance audit carried out by the SNCF Digital Department’s Digital Accessibility team reveals that:

On Android:

  • 33.33% of the RAAM version 1 criteria are met
  • The average compliance rate per page is 59.85%

On iOS:

  • 31% of the RAAM version 1 criteria are met
  • The average compliance rate per page is 51.13%

NON-ACCESSIBLE CONTENT

Non-compliance issues on Android:

  • Graphic elements:
    • Some decorative graphic elements are not ignored by assistance technologies.
  • Colours:
    • The contrast of some text is insufficient with regards to the background. The position information in the navigation menu is given only by colour.
  • Interactive components:
    • Some interactive elements cannot be reached with the keyboard.
    • Some interactive elements cannot be reached with screen reader gestures.
    • Some interactive elements have names that are inaccessible for assistance technologies or have a name which is unclear.
    • Some interactive elements do not have a role (button, link, tab, etc.) or have an erroneous role.
    • The status of some interactive components is not rendered (activated, selected, expanded, etc.)
    • Abnormal behaviour of the search fields "Where are you going" and "From which station": A search can be done in 2 ways (activating the search field directly on the trains page / opening the search field on a new screen). In the search field on the transport screen, confirming the search makes the entry no longer visible and does not give any result. The entry reappears when pressing the cancel button on the digital keyboard.
    • The application's busy status (loading of stations, timetables, modes of transport, etc.) is not conveyed by the screen reader.
  • Information structure:
    • In the whole of the app, the information is not structured by using titles.
    • On several screens, lists are not correctly structured.
  • Presentation of information:
    • On the ‘select your station’ screen, the information about types of transport available at stations is not conveyed (trains, buses) or poorly conveyed (RER) by the screen reader.
    • On the ‘Departures/Arrivals’ screen, the name of the RER lines is not conveyed by the screen reader.
    • On some screens it is conveyed with errors. For example, indicating a cancelled stop when it is in fact the train that is cancelled.
    • On all screens the focus visibility is insufficient or imperceivable.
    • On some screens the focus can be put on non-interactive elements.
    • On some screens, enlarging the font to 200% can cause some overlap.
    • On most screens, some text is not enlarged when enlarging the font to 200%.
  • Forms:
    • On the ‘Select your station’ screen, the name of the button to cancel the entry/exit the search field is not appropriate.
    • On the Navigate screen, the field label is not rendered appropriately.
  • Navigation:
    • On the ‘Select your station’ screen, navigation in the search results using gestures on the screen reader is illogical. It is possible to navigate on the "Favourite stations" and "Nearby" background before you can access the search results.
    • On the Navigate screen, it is only possible to access the offers tab by reversing the navigation direction by pressing "Shift" + "Tab".
  • Consultation:
    • Landscape orientation is inefficient in the whole of the application. *
    • On the homepage, the user cannot control the time limit to modify the content.
    • On several screens, functions that can be activated with a complex gesture cannot be activated with a simple gesture.

Non-compliance issues on iOS (iPhone):

  • Graphic elements:
    • Several decorative images are not ignored by the screen reader.
    • Graphic elements conveying information do not have an accessible alternative: Types of transport - Train, RER, Bus.
  • Colours:
    • For all screens with the navigation menu at the bottom, information about the position (current screen) is only given by the colour.
    • The contrast between the text and its background is insufficient.
    • The contrast between the components and the background is insufficient.
    • The contrast between graphic elements presenting information and the background is insufficient.
  • Interactive components:
    • Some interactive elements have names that are inaccessible for assistance technologies or have a name which is unclear.
    • On the home screen, it is not possible to have consistent navigation on the three screens of the tutorial.
    • On the home screen, no interactive element of the tutorial can be reached and controlled via the keyboard.
    • In the search results, the transcription for adding or removing a station from favourites is identical: "Add station to favourites".
    • Some interactive elements have no role (button, link, tab, etc.)
    • The status of some interactive components is not rendered (activated, selected, expanded, etc.)
    • On the ‘At station / Practical info’ screen, the element for showing/hiding the station opening hours cannot be controlled via the keyboard and via gestures on the screen reader: once expanded it is impossible to collapse it.
    • On the ‘At station / Practical info’ screen there is an issue with visibility of information sheets when navigating on the keyboard (tabbing / scroll).
    • On several screens, interactive elements cannot be reached or activated via the keyboard and/or gestures on the screen reader and/or touchscreen gestures.
  • Information structure:
    • For all screens, the information is not structured by using titles.
    • On the ‘See train stops’ screens, the information is structured with inappropriate use of titles (use of multiple level 1 titles on single words splitting up sentences).
    • On several screens, lists are not correctly structured.
  • Presentation of information:
    • For all screens, enlargement of the font is inefficient.
    • On the ‘Nearby’ tab of the station selection screen, the list of steps to activate the location service is not transcribed.
    • On several screens, the types of transport (train, bus, RER…) are not conveyed by the screen reader.
    • On the departures and arrivals screen, the information about cancellation/modification of a train route is not always conveyed by the screen reader.
    • On all screens, the focus visibility is insufficient or imperceivable.
    • On several screens, visible content conveying information is not conveyed or poorly conveyed.
  • Forms:
    • On the ‘Select your station’ and ‘Navigate’ screens, the label of the cancel entry button is not appropriate.
    • On the ‘Departures/Arrivals’ screen, the label of the ‘Where are you going’ and ‘From what station’ search fields is no longer visible when typing.
    • On the ‘navigate’ screen, the label of the services search field is no longer visible when typing.
  • Navigation:
    • On the train details screen, the order that text and interactive elements are rendered is not logical when navigating using gestures on the screen reader.
    • On the ‘See train stops’ screen, after selecting ‘See train stops’ it is not possible to return to the train details screen.
    • On some screens the focus can be put on non-interactive elements (photos, text).
  • Consultation:
    • The application cannot be viewed in landscape mode.
    • On the home screen, the user cannot control the time before the presentation page or station search appears.
    • On several screens, functions that can be activated with a complex gesture cannot be activated with a simple gesture.
